We must be global Christians with a global vision because our God is a global God” – John Stott audience1.jpg
Praise God that our very first Missions Conference of the 21st century was a success! Over 700 people came for a time of learning, impartation and transformation. Many expressed that they enjoyed it and wanted one every year. It was a first for many new members. For existing members, it was a rekindling of vision. Many made their commitment to grow to be a global Christian and to be involved in global missions.

Our guests included Rev. Stanley Ow, Executive Director of SCEM (Singapore Centre for Evangelism & Missions) and 9 leaders, including Pastor Willie & Pastor Denis from our Malaysian churches in Kuching, Johor Bahru & Kuala Lumpur.

We ended the Conference with Pastor Dinah Lee commissioning commissioning-of-ee-lee.jpg
Tan Ee Lee who was going to strengthen our team in Hope Santiago, Chile. It was a touching moment for the church and an appropriate end to a good conference.

Following on the missions spirit in the Missions Conference were missions services challenging the call to missions. Pastor Ben KC Lee preached on “Being Heaven’s Expatriates” based on 2 Corinthians 8:16-24. This was followed by Yam Chien Meng who shared about his recent STM trip and how he is living his life as a global Christian. Many members came forward in the altar call to give their lives for global ministry.

Ps Ben in Missions Summit

CPM (Church Planting Movement) pioneer, Dr. Bill Smith from the Southern Baptist Convention was the keynote speaker in the Missions Summit from 8-10 May for Singapore pastors, missionaries and missions directors. He was featured in a special panel along with 3 local church leaders including Pastor Ben from Hope Church (Singapore).

Located just north of South Africa, Botswana is one of Africa’s most peaceful, stable and successful countries. She is also the world’s largest producer of diamonds. There are just so many possibilities in advancing God’s kingdom in this prosperous and beautiful nation.

If you have a burden for missions especially in the continent of Africa, do join us as we form a team to explore the Gem of Africa! It is also a good chance to experience what it is like to do ministry in Africa as we will also be briefly dropping by Hope Johannesburg for a visit. Expected date for trip – 6 July (Fri) to 14 July (Sat).
